Shannon was born and raised in Pittsburgh. With a background in business and a knack for creativity, owning a salon has become her passion. She has been nail styling for 11 years and licensed as an esthetician for 6 years. Being in the salon, building relationships with clients, and encouraging creative growth among staff is what she loves most. Not only does she hold a high value on education with her stylists, Shannon passes the knowledge she has gained along her journey.

Outside of work, Shannon spends time with her husband and newborn son, Asher, gardening, remodeling their house, or cooking in the kitchen.

Level 4 Nail Stylist | Educator

Kaylene has been in the industry for over 7 years! She graduated as a cosmetologist and after a few years of experience, she decided to shift her focus on nails. She is trained and certified in the latest nail techniques and high quality products our industry has to offer.

Fun Fact: Kaylene has a business of her own creating handmade, wearable art!

Level 5 Nail Stylist

Katie has been in the industry for over 3 years! She went to cosmetology school with the focus on nail specifically. She is committed to furthering her education and is ferried in the latest techniques and high quality products in our industry.

Fun Fact: Katie’s natural hair color is blonde!

Level 4 Nail Stylist

Morgan has been in the industry for over 3 years! She started her cosmetology career in high school and decided to focus on nails when she graduated. Morgan has been trained on several nail treatment services and techniques, and continues to further her education with the latest techniques.

Fun Fact: Morgan was a cheerleader for 12 years!

Level 3 Nail Stylist

Kim has been in the nail industry for almost 7 years! While doing massages in 2016, she was encouraged to go to nail school and thought, “how hard can it be?”. She quickly found out it was a challenge and fell in love. What Kim loves about being a nail stylist is that there is always more to learn. She also loves building relationships with her clients!

Fun Fact: Kim’s passion outside of work is her family and her garden.

Level 3 Nail Stylist

Erica has been in the industry for over 15 years! She started her career practicing cosmetology but has recently shifted to a focus on nails. Erica continues growing her skills and techniques with the latest in our industry.

Fun Fact: Erica is a mom of 2 and has a golden doodle named Ginger!

Level 2 Nail Stylist

Mary has been in the industry for 2 years! She went to school for nails specifically and is continuing her education with the latest techniques in our industry. Her skills are growing as she focuses on certifications on our high quality products.

Fun Fact: Mary lived in Hawaii for 2.5 years!

Level 1 Nail Stylist

Aubrey graduated cosmetology school in May 2024 and started hairdressing, but quickly realized her love for nails.

She grew up in a small town in western Pennsylvania and recently moved to Pittsburgh. Aubrey is eager to learn about new trends in the nail industry.

When she’s not at Slate, she enjoys long walks and activities with her corgi, Georgia. Aubrey also loves reading and exploring new hobbies!

Intern Nail Stylist

Kat is newly licensed as a nail technician! She was drawn to the nail industry because of her love of meeting new people and seeing the transformation that happens during a manicure.

Outside of work, she spends time with her dog, Belle, or hanging by the pool!
